Art lover, promoter of women artists, wine gal, animal lover, wedding officiant, non-profit board junkie, social justice advocate and philanthropist” are but a few words that describe Sara Vance Waddell. Vance Waddell’s enthusiasm for art started when the Cincinnati Art Museum became one of her clients.

Sara grew up in Ripley, Ohio, a small town on the petticoats of Cincinnati. Art was not part of her milieu or her education. Her college education, in fact, was in journalism with an emphasis on public relations and advertising. Now, with over 32 years of media buying and planning experience, she presently runs SMV Media, a media management firm and also consults in marketing and creative strategy. Her list of clients is impressive and large.

Sara acknowledges, “I’ve been collecting all my life, one way or another: rocks, stamps, baseball cards. One difference now is that the things I collect, wine and art, cost a lot more. I have to be careful!” Some collectors prefer to hide their collections and savor them in solitude. Vance is not one of them. “I believe art is for everyone, and my pie-in-the-sky hope is that someday we’ll have a public space to put the Vance Waddell collection so it can be enjoyed.”

Driven by the passion for art and the desire to bring beauty into as many homes, healthcare facilities, and workplaces as possible, ADC's Founder and President, Litsa Spanos opened the doors to her art consulting firm and gallery over thirty years ago. Her ultimate goal was to create inspiring and exquisite environments utilizing original artwork by contemporary artists - many of whom are women. Her 13,000 mega gallery in Cincinnati has won numerous awards and ranks in the top 2% of women owned businesses in the nation. Thanks to her continued success, Litsa is uniquely positioned to support many non-profits and charities in her community that she passionately cares about. 

Core Clay has been serving the city of Cincinnati since 2005. Through its many transformations over the last 18 years, we have worked diligently to build a clay studio ready to serve the needs of our ceramics community. Originally founded in the neighborhood of Walnut Hills by owner Laura Davis, Core Clay has been dedicated to education, outreach, and service. In early 2024, we opened our second location, Core Clay Loveland, in partnership with Whistlestop Clayworks.

It is this mission that we bring with us to our new location and neighborhood of Norwood. After outgrowing our original building, we officially moved to our new home on Montgomery Road in our 15th year of operation. With the move, we now have the opportunity to achieve the dreams that were previously so unobtainable. Such as our new Bailey gas kiln, new electric kilns, event space, private classrooms, and an overall increase in space and resources for every department within Core Clay.

Mary Heider has a long-time interest in art and artists that led her to curate art in retirement. Most recent was a three-artist exhibit of outdoor ceramic sculptures in Cincinnati’s Krohn Conservatory. Mary’s career emerged not from art, but from an academic background in education, communication, and behavioral sciences. She spent nearly all of her 39 years at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Medicine in an administrative role, working with both medical students and teaching faculty. Now in retirement, she has served as the College of Medicine’s volunteer art curator, bringing art to the spaces frequented daily by students, staff, and faculty. Mary believes that living with art is essential for health and well-being, and moreover, living with art in the daily workplace brings people to seek art in their personal living spaces.

L. Brian Huehls has held life-long interest in making things with his hands. This led to his career in architecture. Working initially with major Cincinnati builders and later independently as LBH Design, he is known for his talent in land planning, i.e., designing housing communities. A great number of major living communities in the Cincinnati-northern Kentucky region are Brian’s designs. Brian believes in increasing the value of community by providing features for more meaningful living experiences in his land plans. Now retired, Brian continues to enjoy meeting and making things for people, including his unique design, art “rocking cards” - now collectors’ keepsakes. Brian freely gives out his “rocking cards” to anyone, brightening their day.

Rachel DesRochers is a mother, a dreamer, a serial entrepreneur, and the founder of Power to

Pursue. Gratitude and community are at the heart of everything she does — and she does a lot.

In addition to founding Power to Pursue, Rachel is the creator behind Grateful Grahams, the

Incubator Kitchen Collective, Gratitude Grams, and Good n' Local, all of which make up The

Gratitude Collective. She is also an advisor for the Queen City Game Changers, an executive

leadership program for women. Rachel has been recognized for her work with numerous awards

and accolades, including the Local Luminary from Slow Foods Cincinnati, and the 2021 Emerging

Leader Honoree for Outstanding Women of NKY. She was a semifinalist for Martha Stewart’s

American Made Award, and was included in the Cincinnati Business Courier 2020 list of 40 Under 40.

When not managing her multiple businesses, Rachel stays busy being a mom to three wildly

wonderful children.

Hawkins is a visual artist based in Cincinnati, OH. She creates public and private commission works as well as site furnishings and functional art. Her artistic practice covers a range of disciplines including sculpture, photo-based works, and installation art.

Hawkins has been reviewed in a range of publications, including ArtPapers, Landscape Architecture, and Sculpture Magazine. She has been awarded grants from the Summerfair Foundation and an Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council.

Kelly Kolar and David Eyman, soulmates, have shared a personal and professional journey for nearly 35 years. They’ve run businesses together and apart, with Kelly’s company now in its 34th year. David, an industrial design graduate from the University of Cincinnati and a creativity scholar from SUNY Buffalo, holds 12 patents and 13 product licenses. As a director of innovation and instructor at Miami University’s Farmer School of Business, he teaches entrepreneurial thinking to hundreds of students. Both maintain strong ties to UC’s DAAP, where they once taught and founded a scholarship. David also serves on the board at Kolar Design, which focuses on data-driven branded interiors that impact lives. Their love, sparked at DAAP in 1986, continues to fuel their creative work and support for the arts in Cincinnati.
